Inora Insulation
Inora manufactures floor insulation from traditional white EPS material and from Inora Grafit material, which has better thermal insulation properties. For both materials, you can find the right products for insulating ground floors, ventilated subfloors, plinths, and floors.
Decisions made during the construction phase have a major impact on a building's lifetime heating costs and CO2 emissions. Increasing the insulation thickness or using Grafit insulation adds only slightly to construction costs, but the savings in heating costs are significant throughout the building's lifespan.
The correct floor insulation for each application is chosen according to the required strength class, insulation properties, and fire resistance. Inora Floor insulation is available in strength classes from 60 to 300 kPa.
Insulates well against heat and cold.
Insulation performance does not degrade during its lifespan.
Insulation capacity improves as the temperature drops.
Resistant to load and compression.
Has good long-term load-bearing capacity, so it is also suitable for heavily loaded structures.
Highly moisture-resistant and does not conduct water by capillary action. For frost insulation, we recommend Inora Routa and Inora Infra insulation.
Dampens the effects of mechanical stress, such as vibration and impacts.
Does not mold or rot.
Resistant to organic chemicals.
Easy to work with and handle.
Can be cut with a fine-toothed saw, knife, or hot wire.
Can be glued, e.g., with urethane or water-based glue.
Can be coated, e.g., with latex paint and urethane and epoxy resin.
Inora EPS 60S Floor is the right choice for the thermal insulation of hollow-core slabs and other ventilated subfloors. The product is fire-protected.
A well-insulated and warm floor increases living comfort and keeps energy consumption in check.
In addition to the standard board size, the product is available in custom dimensions. The large boards are easy and fast to install. Insulation is even easier when the boards are cut to the site's dimensions, i.e., customized. In this case, the boards have pre-made openings, bevels, reductions, grooves, and spots for supports without any waste pieces. The boards in the delivery are packed in installation order. Ask our salespeople for more information on customization.

Inora EPS 100 Floor is the right choice for the thermal insulation of ground floors and the interior of plinths. In Finland, a ground-supported slab is the most common and proven functional subfloor solution, on which the surface structure can be, for example, wood, parquet, laminate, carpet, or tile.
A well-insulated and warm floor increases living comfort and keeps energy consumption in check. When determining the floor insulation thickness, the chosen heating method should also be taken into account. Underfloor heating raises the slab temperature and increases heat loss to the ground, so it is advisable to increase the floor insulation thickness if the insulation is not already at a passive level.

It is wise to invest in the floor, or subfloor, during the design and construction phase, as the floor structure is difficult or even impossible to change afterward. Therefore, the building's subfloor should be implemented to a passive level from the start, even if the building is not otherwise a passive house.
When determining the floor insulation thickness, the chosen heating method for the building must be considered. For example, underfloor heating raises the slab temperature and increases heat loss to the ground, so the floor insulation thickness needs to be increased.
The subfloor can be constructed as either ground-supported or ventilated (i.e., a crawl space). Inora Floor insulation is suitable for both.
A ground-supported subfloor implemented with Inora Floor insulation is a thermally and moisture-technically functional and safe foundation method. The occupant does not need to worry about sufficient subfloor ventilation or inspect the condition of the subfloor structures.
When a building has a ventilated subfloor, in addition to ensuring adequate ventilation and the diversion of rain and meltwater, moisture rising from the ground below the crawl space into the crawl space must be reduced. This is best achieved by also installing EPS insulation (Inora EPS 120 Routa) under the crawl space. This prevents the ground from cooling the outside air in the summer and releasing moisture into the crawl space.
